Revived Chandelier

Revived Chandelier | Alex Inspired – Old brass chandelier is given new life with spray paint, Christmas crystal, new wiring and extra bling. I have very creative parents.

This is their project, not mine. I merely stood back, snapped some pictures and watched their creativity unfold.

While out and about at a thrift store, they stumbled upon this $10.00 brass chandelier. Both saw the potential, and a new project was born.

Together my parents disassembled the chandelier and my dad rewired it accordingly.

The old brass body and bobesches were cleaned, lightly sanded and sprayed with a fresh coat of silver spray-paint and then lacquered for a shiny finish.

My dad (the mechanic that he is) used Chrome Brite Metallic automatic tape to wrap the candelabra sockets (bling, bling).

Because this project took place during the most wonderful time of the year (Christmas!) my mum bought up all of Canadian Tire’s Debbie Travis Christmas collection cut glass decorations, along with a few from Fabricland’s collection.

These decorations were then discombobulated wrapped, wired and strung onto the new chandelier.

Not too shabby for a $10.00 thrift store find.

However, you might not want to know how much momma Barb spent on the Bling.

Ha, Ha, Ha.
